My idea is for small gyms that can be cost efficient and put anywhere. To make it cost efficient we would have no A/C, no cardio machines, and the whole gym would be in a "cage" to cut down on light usage. This way memberships could be cheap because power bills at big gyms cost thousands of dollars a month. I know personally I would prefer a gym like this to anything that they have today. All you would need is a couple of sets of dumbbells and a bunch of utility racks that you can use for squat, bench, overhead press, or almost anything else. This idea came to me because when I was younger the closest gym was a 30 minute drive from my house. So you have an hour worth of driving and an hour or hour and a half of working out. Not many people have two and a half hours to dedicate to getting to the gym everyday. Like I said in the video we could use a similar strategy to Family Dollar and the smaller grocery chains where we focus on the smaller population areas. The name of these gyms would be Gainer's which is my last name but also a common lifting term when people talk about "making gains" it means getting more muscular.

Hi Josh,
ReplyDeleteI like your concept opportunity of making a small gym chain with a cheaper, more effective use of resources. This will help to cut down on transportation time and laziness for getting to the gym. Your elevator pitch captivated my attention with the idea, but try to continue to engage the viewer by speaking with more emotion and passion towards wanting to make this change. Overall great work! Here's the link to my blog if you'd like to check it out:

ReplyDeleteJosh,
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea! I think it could definitely be successful because I know people are always annoyed with expensive gym memberships. Your idea is cool because it will cost cheaper than most gyms but still have the same dumbbells and other weight equipment. I definitely like how you're targeting the small towns because I know these big gym chains that we think of are mainly and big cities and I think we should promote healthy lifestyles to people everywhere. I also liked your video because it was engaging and made me want to partner up with you! Our ideas were obviously different because yours dealt with physical exercise and mine dealt with technology, but they were similar in that they were targeted to a specific population. It's funny because your pitch you were describing an idea with the most little technology while mine was trying to increase technology.
Here's a link to my pitch!
